About Speaker:
Dr Sanmoy Karmakar
Prof Sanmoy Karmakar is currently Heading the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He completed his B. Pharmacy from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in the year 1996, thereafter he completed his M. Pharmacy and Ph. D. from Jadavpur University. He belongs to the specialization of Pharmacology and Toxicology. He has completed his Post Doctoral research from Tokushima University JAPAN involving Human Histamine Receptor Type I. He has received the BOYSCAST Fellowship from the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. He has also received the grant for FUJI OTSUKA Invited International Researcher from FUJI OTSUKA Japan. He has been in active Pharmacy Teaching for more than 20 years. His research interest involves Cardiovascular Pharmacology alongside studies on Bioavailability and Toxicity. He has many peer reviewed international research publications to his credit. He has established molecular research facilities for receptor specific mRNA which also included microRNA studies both in vitro and in vivo system and have successfully conducted molecular in vitro evaluation against different inflammatory mediators for elucidating the mechanism of internal vascular health and atherosclerosis. He has been an Educational Consultant of EDCIL Govt of India and an active member of NAAC Accreditation team. He is also the Director of Bio-equivalence Study Centre Jadavpur University where besides Government funded projects many Private Industry sponsored Consultancies and Projects are being carried out.
