Abstract:
The traditional formulations are collected from plant origins. These are susceptible to contamination from different sources also contains variations of chemical composition. Standardization of traditional formulations means confirmation of its purity,quality,and also identify their sources. Standardization of different formulation like asava-arista using various analytical technique can be used for increase the efficacy of the formulations. Many sophisticated instruments like HPLC, TLC, U.V., HPTLC includes in modern method of analysis which are used along for the standardization and characterization of compounds isolated. This standardization includes chemical, physical, and various analytical methods of analysis and also modern approaches employed in the standardization of traditional formulations. These standardizing techniques can be used in pharmaceuticals as quality control tool for assessing the quality of traditional materials There is a need for development of techniques of standardizing which includes both modern methods of evaluation and traditional methods of evaluation.
